What to Expect? Behind the Scenes with Revival Photography
So what’s a photo session or wedding like with us? You may be thinking, “How do I know if Revival Photography would be a fit for my wedding day?” or maybe you’ve never had a professional photo session or been around a wedding photographer before and you’re wondering what to expect.
A little about us… We are based out of North Carolina, and we love to travel for destination weddings. We love all things vintage, coffee shops, Bob Dylan, walking and talking, winter coats, going to concerts, spinning vinyl, spontaneous trips to the mountains, guitars, and spending time with Jesus. Jason's a geek and Heather's a bit of a nerd. :) We love to laugh and be ourselves. Yes, sometimes we do get hyper (especially Heather). We are who we are and we hope that being who we are you will be more comfortable being who you are as well. (eek, sorry if your eyes are all twisted now, that sentence was a bit of a tongue twister :)
So what can you expect on your wedding day? Every photographer has their own way of doing things, their own style, their own personality. That’s why it’s so important to learn about your wedding photographer, get to know them and most importantly, allow them to learn about you, your story, and what you want (and don’t want). With that being said, we try to blend in as much as we can. For most of the day, our goal is for you to forget we’re even there so that you forget that you are being photographed. Typically Heather will hang out with the bride + bridesmaids and Jason with the groom + groomsmen and then we will come together for the ceremony, post-ceremony photos and reception. When the time comes for the more “posed” photographs or the “family groups” after your wedding ceremony, we try to coordinate everyone in a way so that things go as smoothly and quickly as possible. With our couples and wedding party we love to keep it as low key and easy going as possible so that you will have fun and stay relaxed. Sometimes we might give a “direction” and then say “ok… go!” and let you do your thing while we stand back and capture the realness of the moment and catch you in your element. We love for our couples and wedding parties to give us their own ideas because many times those are the very best shots!
