“We chose the date June 12th because that was a year to the day that we met. Our first date was at an outdoor cafe inside of a garden shop in an old, converted train station downtown.”

“For my birthday last year (October 9), Stan took me to Valle Crucis and I think that is when we both felt like we had found "the one"! We fell in love with that area too, it's so peaceful and beautiful and we both love the music, culture, art and great food there!” – Janie

We were pretty smitten with each other right away and after getting to know each other more, we found that we had so much in common and were very compatible in many ways. I loved Stan's sense of humor and we found that we shared a passion for music, art, reading, movies and great coffee.” – Janie

“We chose to elope because we loved the simplicity and ease of it. We spent the day together but I didn't let Stan see me in my dress until I came out of the house for our ceremony. It really was magical and special and emotional for both of us. The weather was perfect, April provided lovely music and the idyllic scenery of the Mast Farm made it perfect. After our ceremony and pictures, Stan played the guitar and serenaded me in our room. So romantic and sweet! Then we enjoyed a delicious meal followed by the best chocolate cake which Stan actually helped himself to in-between dinner courses! We were stuffed afterwards!! We did have some leftover cake that we enjoyed for a couple of days afterward :) “ – Janie
“Our wedding day was a very lovely, easy day. We had a great breakfast at the Mast Farm Inn then spent the morning visiting downtown Boone including various art galleries and local shops. Stan loves the Bald Guy Brew coffee shop there so we definitely made a stop there for a wedding day latte!” – Janie
“My main memory of our day was just being with Stan and feeling very peaceful and content knowing that I was marrying my perfect life partner. We both celebrated a couple of important personal milestones in June so now we have another one to celebrate for many years to come!” – Janie
“We spent one more night in Valle Crucis then went to Asheville for the rest of our "wedding-moon". More great food, coffee and culture there! We had a great couples massage as a special treat and Stan bought me a keepsake necklace from a local artist at an outdoor arts and crafts fair. It will be a special reminder to me of our wedding and trip.” – Janie
