Nicholas + Ashley - The Engagement Session
“Our love story began when a mutual friend had encouraged the two of us to meet. Both of us were skeptical and it took me (Ashley) making the first move of introduction. After some weeks of getting to know each other over the phone, we finally decided to meet over lunch. And instantly, our playfulness seemed to fit. Love, for us, simply occurred by accident. With his analytical mind and my artistic style.”
“After a year of being together, we thought it would be appropriate to have lunch- at that same place- in that same booth. We spent the afternoon shopping and catching a movie. While leaving, Nicholas insisted that we go back home to change for dinner. I (not knowing he was planning to propose at sunset in our driveway) insisted that we go to dinner, since we were already dressed for the occasion. Quickly, Nicholas agreed (not wanting to ruin the surprise) and we went on to dinner. After returning home, Nicholas lit some candles, played a song and asked me to dance (something that we love to do). After the song ended, he asked me to put his coat up and he could find another song. On my way back, I hear the sweetest song and hurry back to dance. I meet him standing in the hallway- with a ring- in a box- illuminated - down on one knee. After some very happy tears I said YES. The ring was personally designed by Nicholas and custom made by a local jeweler.”
We had such a fun time with this couple. We started shooting at Bass Lake and then headed over to finish the session on the Blue Ridge Parkway, where we had the perfect sunset.
